Coley McDevitt, Vice President and Associate Partner, has more than two decades of successful sales experience in regulated industries like health care and energy, Coley McDevitt excels at building positive business relationships and can help his clients understand how to maximize available resources to produce improved financial results.
After receiving a B.S. in Business from the University of Louisville, Coley completed his MBA at Loyola University in Chicago. He began his career working in the energy industry, first with Commonwealth Energy Services, a Louisville, KY-based startup that specialized in energy consulting for large industrial clients. After several successful years, Commonwealth was acquired by San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), a Sempra Energy utility, and Coley was part of the team tasked with managing the acquisition negotiations and subsequent transition. Coley also worked for MXEnergy, a retail natural gas and electricity supplier that later merged with Constellation Energy.
After almost 10 years in the energy business, Coley decided to switch his focus to the growing healthcare market, specifically in the arena of medical device sales. During his tenure at Arthrex, Inc., a global orthopedic medical device company, Coley served first as Associate Regional Manager for eight territories and then Regional Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Region. His region – the company’s largest in the U.S. – was responsible for seven consecutive years of growth, improving sales by almost 1000%, from $4.1 million to more than $40 million. His accounts included some of the top hospitals in the country, including Johns Hopkins and the Cleveland Clinic.
Thanks to his sales expertise, Coley is skilled at identifying and prioritizing both the buyers’ and the sellers’ needs in each transaction, and his ability to build rapport with all involved parties makes him a valuable member of the Stoneridge Partners team.
