HOT OFF THE PRESS:
We are currently in Orlando, where we are pleased to be taking part in NAHC’s 2012 Home Care & Hospice Strategic Planning Congress. This is being held in conjunction with Home Care 100, a premier event that begins Saturday.
Stoneridge Partners closes another 12 transactions in 2011 and we’re off to a quick start in 2012. Now with over 11 years in business and over 100 sales of home health agencies and hospices.
SOLD: Heartlite Hospice Care, with locations in Alabama and Georgia, sold to a larger hospice provider. Cory Mertz, one of the partners at Stoneridge, provided seller representation.
Earlier in the month Ann Sonnier sold her Louisiana Medicare Home Health and Hospice Agency to a financial buyer. Cory Mertz also handled this sale representing Ann.
See our website tab titled “Completed Transactions” for further sales.
We just returned from Las Vegas, and NAHC’s annual Private Duty Leadership Summit and Exposition. We were joined by Brian Bruenderman, Director of Development at Almost Family, for an entertaining and information filled presentation on Negotiating the Sale of a Home Care Agency. We followed a sale from beginning to end, pointing out critical issues from the buyers and sellers viewpoints.
Home Care 100, February 4-7, Orlando: We will again be attending Home Care 100, the premier leadership conference where home care and hospice executives come together to collaborate and share best practices, discuss solutions for the future and continually strive for management excellence.
IN THE NEWS:
The big news this month in M&A was Humana’s announcement that it has signed an agreement to purchase SeniorBridge, with over $70 million in revenue. SneniorBridge is a non-Medicare home care and geriatric care-management company, and is known for managing complex chronic care for seniors.
From Humana’s CEO: “Acquiring SeniorBridge will immediately expand Humana’s existing clinical capabilities with the addition of SeniorBridge’s national network of 1,500 care managers. The company does a terrific job of reducing hospital readmissions and emergency-room utilization, all while helping seniors achieve lifelong well-being.”
It is our understanding that this transaction may not close for about six months due to regulatory issues. It is also our understanding that SeniorBridge was not on the market, rather they were approached directly by Humana.

We Just Returned From…..
We met with many buyers of home health agencies and hospices. In spite of the headwinds our industry is facing, the market for the sale of these businesses continues to be excellent.
Thank you to those that attended and visited our booth.
